The Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund
The Endowment Fund was established as a perpetual fund for the purpose of strengthening and extending God’s mission through Ascension Lutheran Church. The intent of the fund is to reach out in response to human need by making grants that will promote Christian faith, encourage Christian charity and support education for Christian life and service.
The Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund is held by the Lutheran Community Foundation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Lutheran Community Foundation provides sound and responsible investment management of the Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, as well as expertise through its experienced professional staff.
The Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Committee acts as steward of the fund and consists of five voting members elected by the congregation. In addition a member of the Board of Finance and the Pastors serve as non-voting advisory members of the committee.
Currently there are two sub-funds within the Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund with balances of:
General Fund: $53,459.33 as of December 31, 2007
Youth Fund: $31,592.42 as of December 31, 2007
Total Funds: $85,051.75 as of December 31, 2007
Grants made to the congregation to date from the two sub-funds are:
General fund: $3,970.00 as of December 31, 2007
Youth Fund: $3,750.00 as of December 31, 2007
Total Grants: $7,720.00 as of December 31, 200
The Great Birthday and Anniversary Gift-Away Program
An exciting way that members of all ages are celebrating milestones in their lives, such as birthdays, anniversaries etc., is by giving an amount, such as $1 for each year, to the Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
