Confirmation
Lutheran confirmation is a public profession of
faith prepared for by long and careful instruction. It is an affirmation
of baptism, a public profession of the faith which "marks
the completion of the congregation's program of confirmation ministry" (Lutheran
Book of Worship - Ministers Desk Edition, p.324)
Our confirmation students, grades 6th-8th, meet from 6:30-8:30PM on Wednesday nights during the school year. During that time, we share a meal and fellowship together, sing camp songs, play review games for fabulous prizes, get instruction on the Old & New Testaments, the Ten Commandments, Baptism, Luther, the Apostles Creed, and the Lord’s Prayer, and have small group discussions with adult mentors. We also have several service projects and fun nights throughout the year. Our hope is that students will form relationships within the Christian community as well as learn the basics of our faith.
